Meet Sarah Stoute
As a master designer and the visionary behind Sarah Stoute Bespoke, Sarah lives and breathes bridal design. In her couture fitting rooms, she crafts custom couture designs and hand-alters over 400 wedding dresses every single year, working face-to-face with brides of every shape, size, and style.
It was during these intimate fittings that she witnessed a universal pain point: the sheer frustration of shapewear that hurts, pinches, digs into the skin, and shifts or painfully rolls up in the worst possible places. Brides were forced to compromise their comfort, breathing, and joy just to get a smooth line under their dream dress.
Driven by a resolve to eliminate this compromise, FOUNDATION was born. This is shapewear re-imagined as an essential layer of invisible architecture. By selecting ultra-soft, next-generation technical microfibers, integrating non-slip grip zones, and laser-finishing every edge that is possible, we deliver deep structural support that feels completely weightless, stays exactly where it belongs, and sits flawlessly under the most delicate couture fabrics. Where Every Piece Is Fitted
FOUNDATION is designed and fitted in Sarah's Christchurch studio — the same rooms where hundreds of wedding dresses are altered every year. Every piece in the collection came out of what brides asked for in those fittings, tried under real dresses long before it reached this page.
The collection sits on the shelves there too, beside the fitting rooms. If you already have an appointment booked, you can order online and collect your pieces when you next come in — just tick "I have a fitting booked" at checkout and we'll set them aside for you, with no shipping to pay.
