The two pieces an open back leaves room for
An open back removes the two things most foundation garments rely on: a band around the ribcage and a high back line. A strapless bra sits above the opening and shows. So does a standard bodysuit or shaping short. This kit is the pairing we reach for in the fitting room when a bride arrives in a low-back or slip gown, and it is built around the one rule that matters here: nothing can sit above the line of the dress.
The Low Back Shapewear was cut the other way round from most shapewear. The back line was decided first, dropping below the lumbar, and everything else was engineered around it: continuous tummy-to-hip smoothing with no horizontal seams, boning at the side seams and in the leg so the garment stays elongated rather than rolling, and a silicone waistband that anchors it through a seated ceremony and a full reception. The leg finishes in a raw laser-cut border, which is why it can go under bias-cut silk and clingy crepe where a hemmed edge would show.
Above it, the Adhesive Bra gives strapless, backless lift with no band at all. The cups attach to the body, so the entire back and shoulder line stays clear. It comes in cup sizes A to D rather than one size, and is reusable with care. For a fuller bust, brides in the atelier are usually advised to add boob tape to carry the lift, with the cups giving shape over the top.
This is the kit for slip dresses, low-back gowns, bias-cut silk satin and the mermaid and trumpet silhouettes cut in crepe or structured satin, where a thigh-length shaping layer with no edge is exactly what the fitted zone needs. It is not the kit for a ballgown, where the skirt hides the leg and the waist needs firmer anchoring; the Hourglass Kit is built for that.

Common questions
Shapewear cut specifically low at the back, so it stays below the dress's back opening while still smoothing the stomach, waist and hips. A standard bodysuit or high-waisted short sits above the opening and shows. For the bust, an adhesive bra or boob tape rather than anything with a band.
The leg border is laser-cut rather than hemmed, and there are no seams through the smoothing panel, so there is no ridge to read through silk satin. Silk is the least forgiving bridal fabric, and this piece was drafted against it in live fittings.
Adhesive cups give shape and lift rather than structural support. For a fuller bust, add boob tape underneath to carry the lift and let the cups shape over it. The bra comes in cup sizes A, B, C and D.
The shapewear runs S to XL on regular NZ sizing, by natural waist measurement. Between two sizes, size up if you do not want any pulling showing through a clingy fabric, or size down for more cinch. The adhesive bra is chosen by cup size.
